Immanuel Community Church was
pioneered in 1991 under God's direction and the leadership of
Pastor Smucker. Immanuel was formed from two churches,
Redeemer Community Church in Flushing, a Mennonite Church, and
Elim Tabernacle, a non-denominational Christian Church.
Initially, the new church was based in Bayside, New York.
Eventually, the church's location was moved to Flushing, where
it currently resides.
Immanuel is an affiliate with the
Mennonite Churches Of U.S.A, we are thankful for the special
heritage we share with the other Mennonite churches. However,
the focus at Immanuel is on our relationship with God, and not
on a denomination.
We hope you'll enjoy our
upbeat music and contemporary style. We think
real worship comes from a heart that's yielded to God. People
often comment about how strongly they sense God's presence in
our worship.
We have a worship
band of excellent musicians who've dedicated their
talent and skills to God. Sometimes we clap along with
the songs and, at various times, you might see some folks
lifting their hands in praise to God. We hope you'll feel free
to join right in or just observe.
