The Story About Us
Immanuel Community Church was pioneered in 1991 under God's direction and the leadership of Pastor Smucker. Immanuel was formed from two churches, Redeemer Community Church in Flushing, a Mennonite Church, and Elim Tabernacle, a non-denominational Christian church. Initially, the new church was based in Bayside, New York. Eventually, the church moved its location to Flushing, where it currently resides.
Immanuel is an affiliate with the Lancaster Mennonite Conference, we are thankful for the special heritage we share with the other Mennonite churches. However, the focus at Immanuel is on our relationship with God, and not on a denomination.
